David Frykman has been painting throughout his artistic career, but this will be his first exhibit of paintings at our opening reception at the gallery on May 8th and 9th. The collection is comprised of Door County landscapes and still lifes, all done in oils on canvas.

Blossom Fest Spring Opening at the Frykman Studio Gallery

The Frykman Studio Gallery of Sister Bay will be holding a spring opening reception May 8th and 9th, the weekend of Sister Bay’s Blossom Festival. The reception will be showcasing new art by Door County artists David Frykman, Heather Harle Frykman, and Lucas Frykman.

In addition to new wood carvings by woodcarver David Frykman, the gallery will be showing new oil paintings on canvas, created over this past winter by David Frykman. The paintings are a collection of Door County landscapes, boats and nautical scenes, and still lifes. Frykman has been painting throughout his artistic career, but this will be the first exhibit of his paintings.

Heather and Lucas are displaying at least 20 new large photographs, photographed in 2009, including Door County waterscapes, rustic buildings, winter scenes of Door County landmarks, and autumn scenes from Washington Island and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.

Welker's Point in Peninsula State Park

I've been hiking in Peninsula State Park lately. There are so many miles of hiking and biking trails. I'll just bring the camera with me and make sure I'm in a good spot for sunset. This was taken at Welker's Point, at the northern part of the park. ~Heather

We are picking out the new photographs for our 2010 season at the gallery. We will be having an opening in May, showing all new work on the walls!

We are currently revising the photography web site. Not only are we completely changing the look of our site, we are adding new 2010 photographs. A lot of these photographs will be featured at our opening reception in May.
